Coming Home-June 10 1951

I don't recall much of that year in the hospital. I remember my mother coming to visit but my father never came once. I guess he was in prison for non-support, or so I was always told. I remember one Great Aunt that came, only because she had this real Fox fur around her neck with a real fox head on it. I will never forget that. Ha! Ha!
I came home on June 10, 1951. I had to be in a bed with sides on it and wear leg braces to bed. I hated that. But I guess it was to keep my legs straight so they would not be knock kneed. I don't think I knew my sisters any more and I had never seen my little brother yet. My sisters never came to the hospital. I don't recall much about that time. When I look at photos I seem to recall when the photos were taken though. One of my Aunts took them. This is the day I came home.
